Can Facebook Make You Flunk? Not Likely

The article: PCWorld.com

Extracts:

According to the study, which was conducted by doctoral candidate Aryn Karpinski of Ohio State University and her co-author Adam Duberstein of Ohio Dominican University, frequent Facebook users typically spend less time studying and receive lower GPA scores than students who do not use the service at all. Among the 219 students surveyed, non-users had GPAs between 3.5 and 4.0, while users received 3.0 to 3.5 GPAs. It also found that users averaged 1 to 5 hours of studying per week, compared to 11 to 15 hours of studying by non-users.

Decided to post about this since most of my friends here are facebookers.

My opinion: Depending on how you use it. You can flunk if you’re using facebook like me last year, playing online games(for me, maplestory) 5 hours per day. Then, you can flunk your exams. But, if you know how to divide your time, then I think it’s a no problem to your grades.

So, what’s your opinion?

Few Happened Things

1) 4 April 2009 (Friday)

*The new Prime Minister of Malaysia is here. Congratz! May you work harder for the better future for us. Please abolish NS. Thanks!*

I skipped school on that day to go for Qing Ming in the morning. Then, in the afternoon I went for my first secondary-school tuition at GTC. I took 3 subjects (Chem, Physics and Add. Math). There were many Indian girls and boys in my class(most of the teachers are Indians too) and there were about 1/2 Chinese in there only. So, on that day, after going for Qing Ming, I went home and went there for tuition from 3-5pm(Add. Math) and 5-7pm(Physics). Chem. is on Monday. Overall, I think I’m starting to like tuitions because I CAN UNDERSTAND WHAT THEY ARE TEACHING! Still, it’s really tiring. When I went home, it was raining hellish rain. Damn “tua-hor”. I ate, bathed and slept from 9pm to the next morning 7.30am.

2) 5 April 2009 (Saturday)

So, I woke up early in the morning again. Guess what? I went Qing Ming again. This time is my late grandparents from my mother’s side. Actually, Qing Ming is cool where all the family members get to together and talk crap. Of course, get to eat LOTS of meat. Chiak until you jilat. Then, after that, went to Prangin Mall with Adeline, Dianne and Tabitha. In fact, I sort of organize this outing because I need their helps to buy clothes for the Prom and my brother’s wedding day. Actually, I did expect them to force me to try on nonsense clothes there. Haiz……I’m more experienced now after my first outing with them. In the end, I bought a wrong pants and a black “blouse”(don’t know the official name). I was planning to some clothes for my college time also. But, too bad. Time ran out before I could catch it.

3) 6-10 April 2009 (Normal boring Schooldays)

Somehow, I am feeling the SPM Fever is here. Getting tensed these few days. Only the problem is that SPM-coming-soon awareness just get into my minds. My body just slumber only. My body is just to lazy to study or get into the mood as well. So, I wasted these 4 days with excessive sleeping without studying. I am so dead! Any doctor reading my blog, can help my body to be a more healthy, active one?!?!? Damn all the lazy germs inside my body!

4) 11 April 2009 (Yesterday)

Hey! It’s a schoolday for most schools. I forced myself to go to my class yesterday which is filled by 13 hardworking students. So proud of my class. Practically, it’s a useless day with practically no teaching at all because of the lacking in the number of students. Forget it, nothing nice to blog about it too.

5). 12 April 2009 (Today)

It’s a relax day for me. I woke up pretty late this morning. I wanted to study earlier, somehow the Lazy-Germs(LG) still are dominating most of my body. My war with them is still on! I as the commander IS REALLY SURE of winning this battle.

Commander’s Message to My Soldiers:

Soldiers(Antibodies), Don’t Give Up. Fight Till The End. Promise There’s Reward For You Guys. Let’s Fight!!
