2. Today is “Hari Wilayah Malaysia” (Our Federal Territories Day) – 1 February
Haha, I remembered today is our Federal Territories Day. Wanna know why? I memorised the date when I saw a picture of Dr. Mahathir bin Mohamad (Malaysia’s 4th Prime Minister) in our history textbook, signing a board, officially declaring the day of our Federal Territories Day. I can’t remember the textbook is in Form what.
Read Dr. Mahathir’s blog here [Che Det].
In fact, I just know the date without knowing the meaning of Hari Wilayah. Read this Malay blog [Bolehblog] about the meaning of Hari Wilayah if you wanna know what is it all about.

3. Tomorrow Is Schooling Day Again
Just to remind everyone, tomorrow we are going back to school. So happy that I shed my “tears”. We get to meet teachers, friends and most importantly our best friend, Homework. By the way, don’t forget to bring some CNY cookies for everyone, buddies.
4. Google Search Bug
Did anyone experience any google search bugs yesterday. I stopped using the net in afternoon. So, didn’t know about that until this morning when I started reading my feeds. They stated everything you search in the internet using Google search engine will give search results returning the message “this site may harm your computer”.
[Read more here: Human error caused Google search bug]
5. Updating less and lesser
So, schools starting back. I’m 100% sure everyone will be blogging less. So am I too. Kinda missed all the CNY moments with my family and relatives.

CNY Rush-Hour
1) Happy Chinese New / “Niu” Year!
I noticed I haven’t wished everyone Chinese New Year yet. Paiseh..Seriously, it had been a busy 3 days. Begins with:
A) 30th night / Sa-Chap-Meh [Hokkien]
This is the day for a reunion dinner. As for me, I can say it as “Reunion Breakfast” since my family decided to have it in the morning. This is also the first time we are having it with my sister-in-law. Everything was nice especially the BBQed-in-the-microwaveoven chicken. I just like drinking the “Tu-Toh-Th’ng---soup with pig intestine” but I don’t eat the pig intestine. Too bad la…
[Updated with a pic]
Morning – eat at home, afternoon - went to my auntie’s house and night – to my uncle’s house. Probably that sums up everything.
B) 1st day of Chinese New Year / Che-Yit
I call it “The Day of AngPau” as you will be receiving angpau from people:
- Who are already married
- Who are older than us
THE TERMS APPLIED ONLY “WORKS” IF ONLY THEY ARE GENEROUS ENOUGH TO GIVE US THE ANGPAU.
And it’s also the day of “Red Chinese People --- AngLang” because everywhere you will see Chinese people wearing red clothes. The government called us to follow the rules but we never follow. But, when comes to red clothes during CNY, everyone does it without any commands. A natural magic.
So, the first day practically I used it to play pakau---poker’s card at my uncle’s house. My luck wasn’t that good. Always getting Eiuhkoh---1pt/AkhKia---2pts just like my mother. No luck people. Lost couples of ringgits to my cousins.
C) 2nd day of Chinese New Year / Che-Ji
This year I brought back my PS2 to my uncle’s house in Teluk Kumbar. I wanted to play Fatal Frame there yesterday but must go back home earlier since my mom’s not feeling well. She puked.
Haiz, gave out too much angpau on 1st day of CNY, so she can’t stand the CNY pressure. Plus, there’s recession. My mom’s feeling the HEAT!

3) Streamyx sucks again [Edited]
Almost forgotten to say it out. Now, my streamyx sucks hard! It’s so slow that the Google.com homepage takes tens of seconds to load up. Most probably because of holiday. Anyone experiencing the same, slow streamyx?

Check if Your Computer Is Infected with Virus (Downadup/Conficker)
1) Downadup Virus[Edited]
I’ve read a lot of articles about this worm attack recently. According to ComputerWorld, reportedly it has infected nearly 9 million PCs in just two weeks. [Updated from PCWorld]This latest malware has the ability to spread via USB flash. drives.
Signs
a) Account lockout policies are being tripped(because your password's been hijacked, and changed, by the attacker).
b) Automatic Updates are disabled(because Downadup tries to keep the PC unpatched by turning off Windows Update's automatic update, as well as Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS), the Windows component used by Windows Update to actually deliver the updates).
c) Various security-related Web sites cannot be accessed(because Downadup blocks access to a whole host of security companies' sites in an effort to prevent antivirus software from being updated, which could result in the worm's detection and eradication).
Ways to Protect Our Computer
a) Download MS08-067 Microsoft patch. You can verify that the patch has been installed by bringing up Windows Update, then clicking "Review your update history" and looking for a security update labeled as "KB958644.
*Xtra: You can download this Firefox-like search in IE named FindAsYouType, so that you can find the labeled patch in your update history easier.
b) If you are only now installing the patch, you might want to take Microsoft's advice and also download and install the January edition of its free Malicious Software Removal Tool (MSRT), which was updated last week so that it can detect, and then delete, Downadup infections.
c) Security experts have recommended that users disable both Autorun and Autoplay in Windows.

2) A Week of Holiday
People starting to blog back. Ya, why? Thanks to our celebration: Chinese New Year! Thanks goodness, this year I didn’t suffer from ousel ulser---is that how you spell when you got a “hole” at your lips?!?. I remembered every CNY, I will get at least 1 ousel ulser in my mouth. Very hard to even taste my mom’s chicken curry.
Somehow, I got different “CNY-present” this year, diarrhea. Not just me, everyone who went to my cousin’s house warming---sin chu--- got diarrhea as well. I diarrhea-ed about 5 times on Wednesday afternoon. I was white as a chalk when I got home because I have been “tahaning” the AWEFULLY PAINFUL stomachache from school and waited in the bus for 1 hour++. After that, walk back home from the point my bus dropped me. I kept thinking the world is ending soon.
What about homeworks? I think people should not whine about a lot of homeworks thing. For me, appreciate it while you know how to do them. It’s sucks (like me), having lots of homeworks and at the same time, I don’t know how to do most of them.
Anyway, the best part, my brother’s coming back today. Reunited as a family back again.

2. Magneticky-homeworks
Okay, school has barely just started about 2 weeks ago and I'm like having homeworks here and there. Finish once and tomorrow "poof", they come again. Why are the homeworks so attracted to us(students)?!? I think all my friends are experiencing the same problem. Worse of all, I DON'T KNOW HOW TO DO! Especially for Add. Math. Been thinking for like half an hour for just 1 question.
Worse of all, I became such a pessimistic person this year. Kept whining "I'm so sleepy, I didn't do my homeworks, & I hate school!" every morning when I'm at school. I think Denise (sitting beside me in class) already can expect what I want say to her everytime.
3. Know Something Today!
I think everyone should give a visit to this page. It's about weird things that can happen to our body. In short, weird diseases/syndrome/ or "body anomalies"(as they said).
Warning to age under-18 people : The webpage contains some obscene pictures that might not be suitable for people like us. Well, it's okay for me though although I'm 17.

4. Korea Open 2009Feel a little bit sad for Malaysia especially badminton fans like me. Lee Chong Wei lost to Peter-Gade Christensen in the men's single. I think it's fine to lose sometimes as nobody is perfect on this planet. Another thing is that I can't believe Denmark took 3 titles from the total of 5 titles in the tournament. Peter-Gade, Tine Rasmussen(gonna rank no. 1 in the world now after winning this) and BoeMathias-MogensenCarsten are the winners.

Thank God, It’s Friday Night!
1. Night life!
Oh yeah, this is the night! After a whole week of studying, this night is probably my greatest night ever. Friday morning come back early from school since we are released at 12.30pm. 4 subjects only specially for today except it’s 2 periods for 3 subjects. Tomorrow and Sunday are holidays. Uncles, aunties and cousins visiting me every Saturday. This is the only time I can play games with someone else. Usually, I’m a loner or got kicked away from my computer because Jo Yee ( the child under my mom’s “baby-custody”) likes to chiau my computer and play her Cars---Lightning McQueen movie---)
I still have tonnes of homework to do. I already being left out in Additional Mathematics after I kept delaying from doing the homeworks. Left out in the first week of studying?!? Images from my future SPM results starting to flash in front of me. I can expect what I’m gonna get…hm…bad sign.

Brother’s Working in Thailand
1. Leaving Penang for “good”
My brother left Penang for Bangkok, Thailand at about 4pm yesterday. The company had sent couples of them including Alyssa’s dad to work there, temporarily. My brother said he will be there for about 3 weeks time. He hoped to come back in time for upcoming Chinese New Year.
My parents were kinda worried at first, with all the protesting there and here in that country. Oh come on, he’s already 28! I’m sure he’s knows how to take care of himself. By the way, Thailand is just north of us. Book a ticket online, take your personal documents and fly back in case there is any problems. If not, walk back or ride a bicycle back to Penang.
Meanwhile, it’s time for me to hog the internet bandwidth time! I can download whatever movies or stuffs that I like without any slowness anymore. Usually, when he’s at home, he will like download his “stuffs” and make me surf the net like a tortoise.

A Monitor Who Can’t Even Monitor Herself
1. Elected as a class monitor
That Saturday, January 3 2009 is the day I stood still. How can the class simply elected me as the class monitor?!? There’re like thousands of reason why they should not.
> I’m obviously got some serious hearing problem. What if the soft-speaking teachers called me? Later, I will be blamed for not paying attentions and informing the class about some important stuffs. However, I do believe that I inherited that from my dad. Even, my mom agrees with me.
>Because of the above “advantage”, I’m blur all the time. Having some really hard time understanding people speaking. Eg: teacher was asking me that did we learn the last chapter of chemistry. I answered: “Owh, that solution triangle chapter ar?” I can’t even notice that he is a chemistry teacher, not some Add. Math teacher.
> I’m a hard-core sleeper in the class. I need sleep. Since becoming monitor for like 2 days ago, I hardly have time to even talk to friends. Running everywhere looking for some unknown teachers because I can’t recognise them. Earlier today, I mistaken En. Taufik with En. Sa’adan. Just noticed that En. Taufik got a new pair of teeth. Even straighter than mine! Maybe, he’s ready for his marriage soon…
2. Adding a new section
I decided to add a new section into my blog. Since I read a lot of online stuffs, so I wanted to include some daily/not-too-old “interesting” links from technology to weird stuffs. I will just include some only. If you’re still wondering why I spent so much time online, there you know now…

Better, Upgraded PC
1. My Newly Personal Computer
HOLY F*CK! I knew my brother was going to change for me a “new” com. Just didn’t knew it was that GOOD! If I’m not mistaken, he got the com from his own cybercafe’s shop. Let’s just say it’s an upgraded version, not a new com. But, practically the whole damn system unit has changed now. Remember, I said I wanna sell my handphones and MP3 so that I can buy a new video card. Now, I got more than what I bargained for. See below:
OLD COM’S SPECS
- AMD Athlon Processor 1.66GHz
- 512MB of RAM, then upgraded to 1GB not too long ago
- 64MB video card memory
NEW COM’S SPECS
- AMD Athlon Dual Core Processor 2.70GHz
- 2GB of RAM
- 512MB video card memory
I didn’t write down the full scientific name. Just focus on the numbers, alright. From 1.66GHz processor to 2.70GHz. How cool is that..As for the RAM, an added total of 1GB of RAM to become 2GB. Awesome. What I really didn’t expected the new com is the the video card part.
I thought the com would only have about 128MB or 256MB video card of memory. But, instead I got a total of 512MB MEMORY!!! Never ever that number comes through my mind before this.
Pretty sure a lot of you people will have much, much better com than this. But for me, from a very old com to this “masterpiece” free-of-charge com(since I’m not the one that is paying), I think there’s no other better deal that you can get in this world. Unless of course, you’re from a richy generation.
I was so happy and excited because I can play all those high-end games like Fallout, Far Cry2, Battlefield 2142, and other minority good games. It’s too bad that I still can't get to play GTA 4 because of the too high requirements. Nonetheless, upgrade can still be done if I have the money. Good example of :Human’s desire is never to be fulfill completely.
*Sorry, for some rudely words in this post. A way to express my feelings*

CanYouRunIt is a site where you test your computer to know whether your com can run the game.

Template Overhaul in 2009
1. New Template
Here is it. My new template exclusively from eBlog. Actually, they modified one of the template by Gosublogger into this form. I actually like this type of template because they look professional-ish. But, because of this pro-ish, I hated them. My blog is just my blog. About my life to be specific. Why the whole template thing has to be pro-ish.....?
Whatever is it, I like it. I spent a lot of time editing it. This template was suppose to be a template for money-making blog. So, a lot of ads-friendly sections in this template. I have to cut them down. Besides, I prefer you all to use the comment thing instead of my chatbox. Think again, it's very "mahuan". So, okay the chatbox is still alive in my blog.
2. Saw 5
Saw 5 is practically THE-MOVIE-OF-YEAR for me. Maybe, I should say movie-of-last year since I watched it at about 2am this morning. It was one of scariest movie for me as well. It is scary in a sense that lots of blood and body-cutting part. You can start to see lots, lots of blood even at the beginning of the movie. Anyone watched this movie should give credit to this man,
Darren Lynn Bousman. He's the guy that directed the opening scene according IMDB. I can tell you that the first part is like the best of all. Tense, bloody, gruesome, and all the bloody words that you can find in the dictionary.
But, this is my personal experience from watching it late at night. I always believe you can gain all the good experiences at night. Sometimes, I just being myself, scared of the dark and forget to do that. Try playing Fatal Frame at night. I don't dare and I haven't tried before. Thinking of trying one day...just hoping I don't get any heart-attack.
