Final of All England Open Badminton Championships 2009

Final Result:

LinDan(China) bt ChongWei (Malaysia)

21-19, 21-12

It’s just frustrating to see ChongWei lost to LinDan again. Although LinDan has only entered 8 championships last year compared to ChongWei who entered more championships, he still maintains his fitness and skills or should I say talent?

According to TheStar newspaper one time, a badminton coach mentions that ChongWei needs to join more competitions as there are no other single’s players in our country that up to par for him to spar with them. LinDan has a choice to join less competitions since there are like triples the talented players in their country than ours. So, LinDan can do the sparring with his juniors or “seniors” instead.

Somehow, I think the old ChongWei is still not back yet. FYI: ChongWei won the Malaysia Open in Kota Kinabalu in 2006 where he won over LinDan. What’s the shocking stuff here is the comeback ChongWei did from pt13 – pt20. Explaination: When LinDan was at his pt20, ChongWei was only at his pt13 but ChongWei came all the way back and won the championship.

I am curious why ChongWei has lost to LinDan for countless of times. From my point of view, it’s either ChongWei has degraded or LinDan has improved.
